Drafted 3rd overall in 1983 by the New York Islanders, LaFontaine spent his entire playing career with the NHL’s three New York based teams…the New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers.
Pat LaFontaine spent 6 years playing for the Buffalo Sabres and during the 1992-93 season finished with 53 goals, 95 assists for 148 points in 84 games! LaFontaine finished his career with 468 goals, 545 assists for 1013 points and ranks 9th all-time in scoring among American born NHL players.
Pat LaFontaine was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in November of 2003 and in 2017 was named one the 100 Greatest NHL Players in history.
